Wedding Pianist June 2025 recap: Music, Memories & a Touch of Star Wars

June was one of those months that reminds me exactly why I love being a wedding pianist. Over 30 wonderful days, I had the joy of performing at eight unforgettable weddings, a milestone birthday party, a wedding fayre, and even squeezed in a midweek Sting concert (as a fan – not a performer… yet!).

It had a bit of everything: travel, variety, new music, old favourites, unpredictable weather, and a whole lot of joy.

On the Road: Where I Played

June took me far and wide across the Midlands and beyond — from Shropshire to Gloucestershire, Herefordshire to the West Midlands — with performances in:

  • Two beautiful historical houses
  • A grand historic abbey
  • A stunning castle
  • An elegant country hall
  • A stylish hotel
  • A lively riverside restaurant
  • A modern barn venue

Each venue brought its own charm and unique challenges — and I loved every moment of adapting to the setting and creating the right musical atmosphere.

The Weddings (and One Fabulous Birthday)

Each day was different — some couples booked me for just the ceremony, others for the drinks reception or wedding breakfast, and several for full-day coverage. I always love tailoring the music to each couple’s schedule and style.

New Additions to the Repertoire

One of the best parts of my job is learning music that truly means something to the couples who have booked me. This month, I had the joy of adding some incredible new songs — each with its own special story:

  • The Throne Room – Star Wars: An iconic theme chosen by Lauren and James, and so much fun to perform.
  • Bollywood favourites for Ayesha & Joe:
    • Chura Liya Hai Tumne Jo Dil Ko
    • Kuch Kuch Hota Hai
    • Tujh Mein Rab Dikhta Hai
  • A special request from Sam (the bride) to include the aisle songs her bridesmaids had walked down to at their own weddings:
    • Biblical (Callum Scott)
    • Forever and Ever, Amen (Randy Travis)

It’s always a pleasure to move beyond the standard wedding setlist and include music that reflects people’s stories. Whether it’s cinematic, pop, cultural or deeply sentimental, I love helping to bring those moments to life.

Sun, Showers & Sudden Plan Changes

June also served up some classic British weather.

There were sun-soaked garden ceremonies, drizzly drinks receptions, and last-minute indoor moves to escape downpours. One moment I was playing under a parasol in light rain, the next I was setting up inside a stately hall as thunder rolled in.

But no matter the forecast, the music played on!

Looking Ahead

This month reminded me just how lucky I am to do what I do. The travel, the variety, the privilege of being part of such personal moments — it’s a joy that never gets old.

With new songs in my fingers, new venues explored, and so many incredible people met, I’m heading into the rest of the summer energised and inspired.

If you’re planning your own wedding and looking for live piano music with a personal touch, I’d love to hear from you.
