Piano

I am available for:

  • Wedding ceremonies and receptions
  • Parties and social events
  • Corporate receptions and dinners

Having a pianist at your wedding ceremony, breakfast or reception can really help set the tone for the day, create an atmosphere and ambience to help get the conversation flowing between your guests, and provide some entertainment for everyone to enjoy.

We were delighted to have Robbie play during our wedding ceremony. He took the time to discuss the sort of music we wanted beforehand then magically wove all of our different ideas into a seamless musical montage. He was able to follow all the cues from the wedding venue staff so the music followed the progression of the ceremony perfectly. We would recommend him to anyone considering a pianist for their event!” (Ian and Mel, 2022)

Wedding Pianist

I have many years’ experience of playing the piano at various occasions whether that is at weddings or other functions, and can fit in with whatever plans you have and whichever venue you choose.  I have a vast repertoire of songs at my fingertips from modern pop and blues, to songs from the shows, classical and jazz standards. I can also learn new songs quickly if you have any requests.

Wedding music

Everyone has their own favourite style of music and sometimes the appropriate genre and choice of songs can depend on the part of the wedding during which I will be playing, the location, and your guests. I have an extensive playlist of songs covering a multitude of styles. The list of artists below gives just a flavour of the artists and range of styles that I like to play:

  • Elton John, Phil Collins, Bruno Mars, Eric Clapton, Jason Mraz, Take That, Robbie Williams, Lewis Capaldi, Rod Stewart, The Beatles, Adele, Billy Joel, Carly Simon, Bach, Pachelbel, The Temptations, Queen, Elvis Presley, Fleetwood Mac, Simon and Garfunkel, Randy Newman, The Rolling Stones, The Kinks, Johnny Cash, Oasis, Coldplay, Ed Sheeran, Van Morrison, Meat Loaf, Ludovico Einaudi, Richard Clayderman….and many, many more.

You can hear some samples of me playing the piano by clicking on the audio clips below or watch me playing via videos at the bottom of the page.

Before the day

Ahead of your big day we can discuss all your requirements over the phone covering the style of music you would like, the length of time you would like me to play, the timings of the day, set-up, logistics and location. I can provide advice regarding what kind of music is appropriate for your wedding day and I can also liaise with anyone helping with you the organisation and logistics of the day to make sure my musical accompaniment fits in seamlessly. You can also get in touch with me any time in the run-up if you have any new ideas or if there have been any changes to timings.

On the day itself

I will arrive around an hour before I am due to start playing to ensure I have plenty of time to set-up before your guests arrive. The first time you will see me is when I am already set-up and playing my piano. I don’t clock-watch at weddings as I know even the best laid plans can go awry, and I won’t stop playing if we go over the agreed time!

Equipment

If the venue doesn’t have a piano I can bring my own full-size and fully-weighted electric piano for no extra charge.

Rates

Every event is unique, therefore I prefer to tailor my rates according to each specific occasion. As an indication I generally charge £200 for the first two hours and from there we can discuss the final amount depending on the specific nature, location and timings of your event. I am based in the Midlands and am happy to travel.
