I’m Robbie Roberts. I have a passion for playing the piano both as a soloist and as an accompanist for singers. I have played the piano in restaurants and bars and at weddings and parties, both solo, as part of a duo, and part of bigger bands, for over twenty years.
My parents noticed that I was interested in the piano when I was around 4 years old and trying to replicate the tunes I could hear on the television! I soon began lessons and achieved my Grade 8 at the age of 14. From this point I began to rapidly expand my repertoire by learning songs through a combination of sheet music and simply by ear. It was also around this time that I started performing at events in my hometown of Bridgnorth in Shropshire.
Over the years I have played at several events both in the UK and around the world and have played with some fantastic musicians along the way.
My mum always said that the piano was my favourite toy as a child, and it still is today. Piano practice isn’t work for me, it is my hobby, my passion, and the thing I do best.
As well as playing the piano at weddings and other events, I record with singers, provide backing tracks for choirs, volunteer at local events, teach, and help support younger musicians in the same way that I have been supported over the years.
